Dr. Todd Coven is a board certified Dermatologist and is fellowship trained in Moh's surgery. This technique pioneered by Dr. Frederic Mohs may be alternatively termed 'microscopic controlled excision'. Dr. Coven meticulously removes the tumor and examines it under the microscope during surgery. This sequence of cutting and microscopic examination is repeated in a precise fashion so that the skin cancer can be mapped and removed without having to estimate or guess the depth or width of the lesion. This method removes as little of the healthy normal tissue as possible. Cure rates exceed all other types of treatment. In certain cases, Dr. Coven works with a Plastic Surgeon to produce the best possible cosmetic result.
